Christmas Countdown: Day 3

So on December 3rd, the elf, Jeff, showed up in the lollipop canister.

We even caught him with a dum dum sucker!  There's no telling how many he ate before he stopped at this one!

We were supposed to decorate the tree with our ornaments for our Christmas activity, but I had to go by and meet with a client late that afternoon which made us late getting started with our Christmas countdown festivities.  The boys were disappointed.  I was too.

We did get to do our Nativity Countdown.  Tonight was Zach's turn to read the scripture, Luke 1: 46-55.

Luke 1:46-55
New International Version (NIV)

Mary’s Song

46 And Mary said:
“My soul glorifies the Lord
47     and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
48 for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed,
49     for the Mighty One has done great things for me—
    holy is his name.
50 His mercy extends to those who fear him,
    from generation to generation.
51 He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;
he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.
52 He has brought down rulers from their thrones
but has lifted up the humble.
53 He has filled the hungry with good things
but has sent the rich away empty.
54 He has helped his servant Israel,
    remembering to be merciful
55 to Abraham and his descendants forever,
just as he promised our ancestors.” (source)

Shane placed the Mary figure on the Nativity countdown.

I read our Christmas book to the boys that night.

It was a cute book about a little boy who spent the entire year making his Christmas list and then couldn't afford to pay the postage to mail it to Santa cause it was so long!  :)

Shane loved it!  He wanted me to read it to him again the next night!  But I am sticking to the one book a night rule on school nights this Christmas!

And so concludes another day counting down to Christmas with . . .

                                   the Ferrell boys and me!
