Happy Halloween From The Kindergarten!

Today all the Kindergarten classes at the boys' school wore their Halloween costumes for the day.

Shane and his best buddy, Colt,  were so excited.

Every year, Miss Karen takes her Kindergarten class to the local nursing homes on Halloween and has the children sing songs and recite poems to the residents.

Both Alex and Zach went to the nursing home when they were in K5, and I was really looking forward to Shane participating in this rite of Kindergarten passage.  :)  We were missing Mary Beth and Lex.  They stayed home to welcome their new baby sister.  :)

The K4 and K5 classes

They were so cute singing and reciting to the residents.

Here are some videos of the children singing and reciting their poems to the residents.  I realize not everyone is going to want to watch the videos but I'm posting these for the parents and grandparents that didn't get to attend their performance.

At the other nursing home:

The residents had treats for the children after they sang.

After visiting both the nursing homes and the local bank, we all went back to the school for scary stories from one of the teachers and then a daytime walk through the Haunted House.

One of the creatures from the Haunted House came to visit the classes.

Alex found a friend it seems.

The rest of Halloween was pretty quiet for us.

It rained all afternoon and into the evening where we live so sadly there was no trick or treating on Halloween for . . .

                          the Ferrell boys and me!
